Morley Victoria works with The Yorkshire Rose Teaching Alliance to recruit School Direct trainees to join our dedicated team of staff. We are committed to providing a school experience where you will receive the support, guidance and training you will need in order to become a highly successful teacher.

What is special about Morley Victoria?

At Morley Victoria we aim to provide all of our children with a rounded education. We focus not only on academic achievements but the life skills that our children will need when they move on from us. Our relationships are strong and the personal, social and emotional skills that children develop whilst in our care are a vital part of our ethos, values and culture – essentially, we are one big family. We believe that children deserve the very best that education has to offer. Our aim is to train people to become excellent, confident teachers who have a good ‘well rounded’ skill set to enable them to deal with the daily challenges that working with children presents. We provide these professionals with knowledge of the curriculum, the ability to teach good quality lessons and also how to nurture and care for children, to respect their values and beliefs and to ensure that each child is treated as an individual. We train people to recognise when a child has an educational or emotional need; how to work with the ever-changing assessment system and what good quality work, marking and feedback looks like. We also teach them how to prepare an application form and supporting statement and how to come across professionally in an interview. We do a lot of preparation with trainees towards the expectations of their ECT years.

We are looking for emotionally intelligent, hard-working, dedicated people to join our team as an integral, important member of staff and train with us. Over the course of many years we have been very successful in training teachers and have a history of ‘growing our own’. Most of the trainees we have worked with, have remained in the Morley Family of Schools (if not in our school) and we have a very impressive success rate. We feel that the School Direct route is hugely beneficial as you will be immersed in the life of the school and learn first-hand how to be a great teacher.
