The Morley Family of Schools
The Morley Family of Schools is a long established group of local Headteachers and Senior Leaders who come together on a termly basis for the good of the wider Morley Community and all of the children and young people who live in and around the Morley area. The schools include those in the Leodis Academies Trust: Woodkirk Academy, Hill Top Academy, Blackgates Primary Academy, East Ardsley Primary Academy and Westerton Primary Academy. There are also many other local authority run schools: Drighlington, Birchfield, Gildersome, Fountain, Churwell, Asquith, St Francis and ourselves at Morley Victoria.
We all have one common goal - that is to provide the best possible education to the children and young people in and around Morley. We meet together to learn updates from Ofsted, to have training from different professionals and how many different organisations can enhance what we do in schools with our curriculum; we hear from the Area Inclusion Partnership in South Leeds regarding alternative provision for those children who require additional support; we hear from specialists in Special Educational Needs Provision; we discuss Teacher Training and generally what the different schools can offer in the way of support to one another.
We also look at different local events that will benefit the children and young people of Morley and support as many as we can, such as the Morley Arts Festival, the Morley Music Festival, visiting authors, visits to the Council chambers with the Morley Cluster Council, made up of children from all of our schools. We look at local Police and School Nurse involvement in our schools and the provision of local Social Work Services.
This is an incredibly valuable and supportive group for our school to be part of.
